Udaipur Collection
Spring Couture 2017
Anyone who has ever been a part of an Indian wedding knows that they are full of rituals, culture and tradition, all of which is embodied in a Sabyasachi. Indian bridal dreams are incomplete without this label and rightly so! With every new collection, the designer with his old world charm takes our breath away and leaves us in awe of the intricate details that are so seamlessly rooted into every piece. With the label’s new Udaipur based spring couture collection that puts at display Indian heritage with such chic, we almost heard the world marvel at the label’s creations as he unraveled them on Instagram. With hues of refreshing mints and teal accompanied with gorgeous pinks and whites adorned with delicate floras sewn into the overlays of the fine fabrics, the collection is nothing but fit for maharajas and maharanis. This collection is the perfect blend of modern contemporary and traditional that oozes the quaint elevated stance that is personified by the Rajhasthani Royalty , where the collection takes inspiration from. “Whether the maharanis in their French chiffon with European flora and fauna print, the maharajas in their quiet arrogance, the exuberant interiors of their majestic palaces, their culture, traditions of clothing, their often eclectic tastes in luxury, all of those notions and insinuations come to life with my creative liberty in the Udaipur collection, says the designer. “While there is global exposure to these iconic people, they are also extremely insular and proud of who they are and where they come from. And the existence of that feral dichotomy to me is the essence of empowered luxury.” (Quotes sourced from Vogue India).
